Editorial Standards.

Our editorial purpose

AJK Media publishes general legal information through Divorce.law, Criminal.law, and Bankruptcy.law. Each platform serves a different legal journey, but the editorial goal is shared: make consequential legal information easier to find, understand, and verify without presenting the platform as a substitute for a lawyer.

These standards apply to published guides, jurisdiction pages, resource libraries, AI-assisted answers, Roadmaps, calculators, and other informational tools, with appropriate differences for each legal category and product.

How content is created

AI may assist with research organization, drafting, structured-data workflows, retrieval, and quality checks. Publication does not begin with open-ended generation alone. It begins with a defined topic, category-specific structured facts, and collected official or canonical source material.

Humans determine editorial scope, evaluate source quality, organize content, review material for clarity and consistency, and decide what is published. AI assistance does not convert generated language into legal authority, legal advice, or an attorney’s opinion about an individual matter.

Our source hierarchy

We prefer primary and authoritative materials, including:

• Statutes, codes, regulations, and enacted legislation.
• Court rules, administrative rules, official forms, and filing instructions.
• Published judicial opinions where relevant to the topic and product.
• Government guidance, fee schedules, means-test data, sentencing materials, and agency publications.
• Other established legal authorities when a primary source does not fully explain the subject.

Secondary sources may help provide context, but they do not replace controlling authority. When sources conflict, we favor the source with the strongest legal authority and clearly defined jurisdictional scope.

Structured legal intelligence and LexVault

AJK Media maintains category-specific structured legal-intelligence layers that organize verified, jurisdiction-aware facts into consistent systems. Divorce.law’s structured layer is known as DivorceLex™. Criminal.law and Bankruptcy.law use their own category-specific structures as their coverage develops.

LexVault preserves collected full-text official sources in retrievable sections with citations and source history. It contains the sources we have collected for covered topics; it is not a complete archive of every law, rule, opinion, or government publication.

The relationship is deliberate: official sources establish the law; LexVault preserves collected authority; structured intelligence organizes verified facts; and our content, tools, and AI-assisted experiences draw from those layers. The official source—not the AI or internal data layer—is the legal authority.

Sources and citations

When we cite a statute, rule, form, guideline, fee schedule, or other authority, the citation identifies the source used and links to the official source when available. We prefer to point readers toward underlying authority instead of asking them to trust an unsupported summary.

A citation establishes where information came from; it does not determine how the law applies to a person’s facts. Citations and source links do not replace advice from a licensed attorney.

Victoria and real-time AI answers

Victoria is AJK Media’s shared legal-information assistant. Unlike a published guide, a Victoria response is generated in real time. Where the relevant source and structured-data coverage are available, Victoria is designed to retrieve from that foundation and point toward the underlying authority.

Real-time answers are not written or reviewed by an attorney before a user sees them. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. Later quality review does not amount to pre-publication review of each response. Victoria provides general legal information, does not represent users, and cannot guarantee outcomes.

Calculators, Roadmaps, and deterministic tools

Our tools are designed to help people estimate, organize, and understand. Where possible, deterministic tools use defined rules and category-specific structured facts rather than relying on generative output alone.

Results still depend on user inputs, assumptions, data coverage, legal changes, discretion, and local practice. Tool outputs are starting points for understanding—not binding results or individualized legal advice.

Review and legal updates

Legal information can drift out of date. We maintain review processes for jurisdiction and category content and track source history where our systems support it. Selected official sources may be monitored for change, creating an internal review task when a source appears to have changed.

Source changes are not published automatically as legal conclusions. A person reviews proposed changes before structured facts or published content are updated. Monitoring is limited to selected sources and cannot guarantee that every legal change is detected or reflected immediately.

Editorial independence

Informational content is created independently of attorneys and law firms that advertise on an AJK Media platform. Profiles, market placements, and sponsorships are paid advertising, not endorsements. Payment does not change the legal rules, sources, calculations, or editorial conclusions presented to consumers.

Advertising and aggregate performance reporting are operationally distinct from editorial decision-making. Personal information is shared with a law firm only when a consumer affirmatively requests the connection.

What our information is—and is not

AJK Media’s content is general legal information. It is not tailored legal advice, does not direct a person’s strategy, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. Content about a jurisdiction is based on collected official and canonical sources; it is not the opinion of an attorney licensed in every jurisdiction covered.

Our founder, Antonio G. Jimenez, Esq., is a practicing Florida attorney and provides corporate and editorial oversight. His Florida licensure does not transform information about another jurisdiction into advice from a lawyer licensed there.

Corrections and feedback

If something appears inaccurate, outdated, unclear, or unsupported, we want to know. Use the AJK Media contact form, choose “General inquiry,” and begin your message with “Editorial correction.” Include the platform, page URL, statement at issue, and any source that may help us evaluate it.

A person will review substantiated reports against the available sources. Depending on the issue, we may correct, clarify, update, add a source, narrow a claim, or remove material. We prioritize issues that could materially affect a consumer’s understanding of a legal rule, deadline, eligibility requirement, or next step.
